Maikai Coffee: Bringing Hawaii and Pacific Coffees to DC

Maikai Coffee, a specialty coffee roaster from Hawaii, will be collaborating with Poppir Place  to open the Maikai Espresso Bar featuring artisanal Hawaiian and Pacific coffees’ to Downtown.

Tony Marzi, Maikai’s founder says “Maikai is about simple discoveries that delight and at the same time provide piece of mind that we are making a difference in agricultural communities.”

Since early 2015, Maikai has cultivated close relationships with farmers to create a true farm to cup experience. In doing so, Maikai Coffee is able to operate with fair pay to farm workers, environmental practices, and ensuring the highest standard of ethics and quality in each batch. Maikai believes this helps brew the best of Hawaiian Coffee.

Starting as an online purveyor of Hawaiian coffee, Maikai has since, expanded its sourcing into Pacific Island countries selection and their reach to customers worldwide. As Maikai’s horizon grows from one coast to another, Maikai is launching its first cafe experience and has chosen Washington, DC.

“I was blown away when I discovered Maikai Coffee. I’m absolutely thrilled they will be joining our community and adding something unexpected to the neighborhood”. Derek Nickerson founder of Poppir Place
